Good afternoon muffins,

How is your week coming along? Personally I’m pretty excited that tomorrow is Friday which means the weekend. That’s the only time we are allowed to have tete-a-tete’s/pillow talks.. haha I’m really digging Zayn Malik’s Pillowtalk … Don’t judge I am a hopeless romantic sometimes.¬† Most importantly though on weekends we bring out our pretty ankara/kente pieces as they are quite playful and vibrant.

In the past Ankara/Kente have been viewed as something for the older generation. Lately though we see them making a major comeback, on runways, red carpets, proms etc. It’s time to rock yours, and if you don’t have one Cittificial Klothing got you covered.

I got this beautiful number from¬† Cittificial Klothing whose offices are located within Nairobi’s CBD. It is quite a statement piece and very minimalistic in terms of styling and accessorizing. The top part is lacy and has this corset theme going on, meaning you need no bra… I mean which girl likes a bra anyway, I know I don’t haha. The ‘skirt’ part of the dress is a beautiful blue ankara piece. What I particularly love about it is the asymmetrical design created by the extra piece giving the dress an edgy feel. The whole dress just made me feel like a fairy tale princess.
