THE DENIM DRESS- 1
Happy hump day earthlings,
NOTE: Sorry to my readers who don’t understand swahili.
A while back I was walking on Moi Avenue headed to meet a friend. On the “side walks” there are these pop up thrift stores. Then this particular buyer goes like “Auntie, niko na denim top zingine hapa kali”, the lady in front of me shrugs, makes a face and walks on. The guy then says, “Unaringa na hata wewe si msupu, ongeleshanga mahustler, hata sponsor hukufa”. Well, it was a very mean statement, but funny, and yes I laughed. In the middle of this spectacle I spotted this very cute denim button up dress on a mannequin. I tried it on, it fit, I bought it and here I am blogging about it today haha.
Moral of the story is, be nice to “mahustler” as he put it, I know some of them can be impossible though. Secondly, thrift items are the bomb.com. Thirdly, ladies if you do not own a denim dress yet, I don’t understand what you’re doing with your life.
Denim dresses have become a statement in their own right! There are lots of different variations when it comes to denim dresses, some are tight, buttoned, short, long, slouchy…. It is a very versatile piece and how you choose to style yours is entirely up to you. I am going to share two ways I styled mine, in different posts.
For the first look I dressed it up. Wore it with this very beautiful strappy heels from Backyard Shoez. I also wore this black choker to spice up the look. This is something I’d wear for a date night with boo or for drinks with my girls.
Did I nail the look or nah? Lemme know what you think in the comment section below.
Thank you for stopping by.
