For the longest time I had a hate relationship with the color red. It was too much for my liking, too main stream. I never used to get how anyone could own a red underwear for instance. Of course red lipsticks were a no no for me, not because I really used to wear any make up! I low key had this judgemental look whenever I saw someone in red. If you know me BTW you’d know low key is a downplay of my true feelings in this case. Lemme explain: Whenever I’m walking in town I usually have this Joan Rivers thing going on, I critique a lot of things around me and because I’m a loud mouth it can get nerve wracking for the person I am with. Sorry,  I  digress! Anyway, let’s just say that Red to me is that not so good looking boyfriend or girlfriend you have that you’re never comfortable being seen around with but who you still f*$# with coz he/she is either really nice or really rich lol. And with time you develop a liking for them!

Oops, where are my manners? *facepalm*! How are you my people doing? How’s August treating you thus far? How are you coping with the cold? *Phew that feels better*

A while back, two or three months ago I got an invite to Nairobi International Fashion Festival 2017, dubbed Fashion in the Wild. It was the first festival of its kind in Kenya and it was in conjunction with the Commonwealth. It saw a lot of designers in the Kenyan fashion scene showcase to both a local and international audience. When I got this invite, thanks to Ezil, a fellow fashion blogger, I was so confused as to what I should wear! I remember calling Tailor001 of Cittifficial Klothing, to advise and possibly design for me something elegant. Hence the birth of this beautiful red gown I’m doning here! Now the mistake was I didn’t bear in mind the event venue which was the Nairobi National Park, the time of the event which was between 7-10PM and most importantly the weather which was very rainy and cold. Let’s just say, a pant suit would have worked better!

I wore it with white chunky sandals for comfort and threw on “my fur coat”. My makeup was very nude just to ensure all attention was on the gown. I recently wore this for a photoshoot and instead of the white chunky heels I wore these burgundy strappy heels Coz red looks great on red.

That’s it for today’s post. Thanks for reading. Please leave your views in the comment section below.

My Kenyan readers please maintain peace as we prepare for either Canaan or Mesopotamia. Remember One Kenya One People (is this really a thing?).

This is the reason why I don’t smile in my photos, my eyes won’t let me be great!

PS: I’m looking for a way to dispose of my event outfits coz I never wear them again, any ideas on how you people do it will be appreciated.
